44 FEATURES OF SPINNING STABILIZED SHIP, SSS.
1. Customized versions of spinning stabilized ship, SSS, could be a customized explorer super yacht, a research vessel, naval vessel, cruise ship, coastguard vessel, commercial fishing vessel, other types of commercial vessels, etc.
-
2. SSS utilizes its entire structure to act as a gyro stabilizer, a unique approach compared to traditional, rigid ship designs.
-
3. SSS is designed to withstand extreme, unpredictable wave conditions that typically threaten conventional cargo and tanker vessels.
-
4. While underway SSS, the hull maintains a slow, continuous rotation, which provides the stabilizing effect.
-
5. SSS is an emerging vessel design that utilizes the entire hull as a giant, slowly rotating spherical gyroscope to achieve unparalleled stability, even against monster rogue waves.
-
6. Unlike traditional ships, SSS are insensitive to wave orientation, allowing them to remain stable while moving through rough water.
-
7. The hull shape of SSS, has spherical hull dimensions 100' entire hull height and 100' beam and 100' length
-
8. Interior space for all passengers and crew of SSS, has six decks of interior with 37,364 square feet of deck space for passengers and crew.
-
9. These six SSS decks individually are deck five 7536 square feet, deck six 7850 square feet, deck seven 7536 square feet, deck eight 6592 square feet, deck nine 5024 square feet and deck ten 2826 square feet.
-
10. All seven upper decks of SSS are above the waterline.
-
11. Interior lower four decks of SSS house fuel tanks and entire propulsion system.
-
12. The three lowest decks of the lower four decks are below the waterline.
-
13. SSS has no exterior decks.
-
14. SSS has no exterior windows.
-
15. SSS, instead of windows on every deck, has multiple large high definition video screens which allow 100% visibility of the outside environment and each video screen receives a signal from a hull mounted waterproof/self-cleaning video camera.
-
16. These video screens are mounted on the inside of the hull all around each interior deck to appear like windows.
-
17. Also interior compartments which are not next to the actual hull have video screens as well.
-
18. This video screen system is powered with a redundant electrical system to prevent any interruption of a constant view of the outside environment.
-
19. The SSS displacement when fully loaded is 3500 tons
-
20. SSS, when fully loaded, has a draft of 30 feet
-
21. The SSS height above the waterline is 70 feet.
-
22. The SSS entire outer hull is steel.
-
23. The SSS entire hull is one inch thick.
-
24. The SSS cruising speed is 12 knots.
-
25. SSS, has 15,000 horsepower diesel electric generation capacity.
-
26. SSS has two 7,500 horsepower Caterpillar diesel generators.
-
27. Each (C280-16) is a 16 cylinder powerful medium-speed unit commonly used for offshore marine generating 5 Megawatts.
-
28. Two of these are equal to 10 Megawatts.
-
29. Only one generator at a time is running SSS.
-
30. SSS has one generator always available as a backup.
-
31. SSS has a 200,000 gallon diesel fuel capacity.
-
32. SSS has 10,000 nautical mile cruising range.
-
33. SSS has six Schottel flush mounted 360 degree azimuthing SPJ-180 waterjet drive pumps for propulsion and stabilization.
-
34. These pumps produce propulsion and rotation.
-
35. These pumps are 100% safe for all marine life and humans under the hull at all times while operating.
-
36. These SPJ-180 waterjets are driven by large electric motors.
-
37. SSS, has azimuthing 360 degree steering in any direction at anytime whether the hull of SSS is in spinning mode or is not in spinning mode.
-
38. When SSS is underway and the hull is in spinning mode, the helm matches the steering constantly with a counter propulsive force set to follow a set course by the helm.
-
39. As long as the counter steering is matched to the rate of rotation, regardless of any course changes, SSS will stay on course at all times.
-
40. SSS, rotates one rotation per minute at 3.6 m.p.h speed at the equator of the interior.
-
41. This rate of rotation is very passenger friendly.
-
42. At one rotation per minute, considering the large mass of SSS, this speed will be ideal for maximum stabilization and maintaining a low level of internal centrifugal force.
-
43. SSS hull material is one inch thick steel and most small arms weapons can not penetrate the hull.
